Device/Equipment
Basic requirements for a standard CAD model of a device/equipment must have
- Parametrics envelope for packaging – what is the shape and size
- Mounting definition – how device/equipment will be mounted
- Mating definition – how and where device connector will meet
- Identification/Part Number
Active Harness Component
Basic requirements for a standard CAD model of an active harness component must have
- Parametrics envelope for packaging – what is the shape and size
- Mounting definition – how component will be mounted
- Device Mating definition – how and where device connector will meet
- Wire Mating definition – how and where wire will be terminated
- Pin definition – how and where wire will be terminated
- Connector Position Assurance (CPA) feature
- Terminal Position Assurance (TPA) feature
- Dress Cover definition
- Identification/Part Number
Passive Harness Component
Basic requirements for a standard CAD model of an passive harness component must have
- Parametrics envelope for packaging – what is the shape and size
- Mounting definition – how component will be mounted
- Bundle definition – how many wires it can hold
- Interlock definition – how iwires will be oriented
- Identification/Part Number
Wiring Harness
Basic requirements for a standard CAD model of a wiring harness must have
- Active and passive harness components in installed position, (it is a best practice to use library interface to bring the components inside the wiring harness assembly model)
- Wire Bundle representation
- Wire Bundle Protective Covering representation
- Identification/Part Number
